AWE and KINTEX Join Forces to Enhance Global MICE Collaboration
AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) and Korea International Exhibition Center (KINTEX) have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to deepen collaboration between these two internationally renowned conference and exhibition venues, with the ultimate goal of further promoting the development of the MICE industry across the Asia-Pacific region.
The MOU Signing Ceremony took place on 14 November 2023 at KINTEX in Seoul, South Korea. Irene Chan, CEO of AWE, and Jae Yul Lee, CEO of KINTEX, jointly signed the agreement. The event was witnessed by Jack So, Chairman of Airport Authority Hong Kong, and Jaewon Lyu, Vice Chairman of KINTEX.
The agreement encompasses various areas of collaboration, including the active exchange of business development strategies, the exploration of new business opportunities and marketing strategies, the enhancement of employee training in both venues, and the arrangement of reciprocal site visits.
Drawing on the extensive experience and local expertise of both professional teams, AWE and KINTEX are committed to promoting expo and cultural events that fully leverage the cross-city power of these two Asian giants. By generating new synergies in the economic and trade development of the Asia-Pacific region, this landmark new agreement has the potential to drive remarkable new growth in the MICE industry. |

UFI Global Congress 2025
The 92nd UFI Global Congress, organised by UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, will be hosted by AWE in 2025. The event promises to be an extraordinary experience, featuring side-programmes throughout Mainland China’s vibrant Greater Bay Area, providing the global UFI community with access to exciting new business horizons.
The agreement to host the event at AWE in 2025 was signed by Irene Chan, CEO of AWE, and Geoff Dickinson, President of UFI, during the 90th UFI Global Congress in Las Vegas on 3 November 2023.
The UFI Global Congress is a must-attend event, attracting over 50,000 industry professionals and influential leaders from around the world. Held annually in renowned trade-show destinations, the event’s return to Asia-Pacific in 2025 is a major milestone for the region, which last hosted the event in 2019. As the host of this prestigious, high-profile event, AWE will be drawing on its proven ability to deliver exceptional event experiences, and its tireless dedication to playing a pivotal role in the global exhibition industry. |

After the pandemic forced two cancellations in 2020 and 2021, Cosmoprof and Cosmopack Asia finally made an eagerly anticipated return to their hometown of Hong Kong in November. The event was held under the well-established “One Fair, Two Venues” product categorisation arrangement, with Cosmopack Asia taking place at AWE.
In total, the 2023 Hong Kong edition of Cosmoprof and Cosmopack Asia welcomed over 60,000 attendees. The exhibition boasted 2,000 exhibitors from 43 countries and regions, covering a vast exhibition area of more than 100,000 square metres. The event also featured more than 20 group and country pavilions, including Australia, France, Germany, Israel, Japan, Korea, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, and the USA. |

The 18th Eco Expo Asia, co-organised by the HKTDC and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd., concluded its physical event at AWE on a high note. As a renowned global trade platform for the environmental protection industry, Eco Expo Asia was an inspirational showcase of the latest green products, equipment, and cutting-edge technology, as well as face-to-face networking opportunities that generated a wealth of new business potential. To encourage members of the public, especially the younger generation, to embrace green living, the final day of the Expo was designated as a Public Day featuring a variety of environmental talks, workshops and a Green Mart, all available free of charge. Thrilling Concerts Add to the Excitement of Night Vibes

Hong Kong’s new city-wide “Night Vibes Hong Kong” campaign is designed to promote the night-time economy. Leveraging its unique strengths as a leading venue for large-scale exhibitions, conferences, concerts and more, AWE proudly supported the campaign by introducing “AWEsome Booths” at two major musical events during the recent Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays—namely, at the diverse local music event “TONE Music Festival 2023”, and the first-ever tour of Korean girl group LE SSERAFIM at the “2023 LE SSERAFIM TOUR ‘FLAME RISES’ IN HONG KONG”.
Both concerts brought a vibrant atmosphere to AWE, attracting tens of thousands of music lovers. To further enhance the “Night Vibes Hong Kong” experience, AWE extended the operating hours of its AWE Pop-up Café until 23:00 and offered complimentary Hong Kong-style curry fish balls with a refreshing iced pineapple drink to everyone who downloaded the AsiaWorld-Expo app and registered for membership.
The success of this event highlights Hong Kong’s passion for music and cultural activities.
