The global business community's eagerly anticipated AsiaWorld-Expo is now opened – Hong Kong's newest, and most spectacular exhibition and events venue is here.

 

 

Opening Day

On 21 December 2005, AsiaWorld-Expo celebrated its Grand Opening in style. More than 700 VIP guests and 100 press from major local and international media gathered together to toast the special occasion.

Hong Kong's newest and largest exhibition and events centre made a memorable impression on the global business community. Boasting 70,000 square metres of rentable space including a 13,500 seating capacity entertainment arena, the unparalleled multi-purpose venue received extensive exposure in electronic, television and print media from around the world.

Guest of Honour The Hon Donald Tsang, GBM, Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region presided over the ceremony along with Officiating Guests Mr John Tsang, Secretary for Commerce, Industry and Technology of Hong Kong; Mr Frederick Ma, Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of Hong Kong; Mr Mike Rowse, JP, Chairman of AsiaWorld-Expo; Mr Yves Gabriel, Chairman & CEO of Bouygues Construction; Mr Tony Fung, Chairman of Yu Ming Investments Limited; Mr Benoît de Ruffray, Managing Director of Dragages Hong Kong Limited; Dr Victor Fung Kwok-king, Chairman of Airport Authority Hong Kong; Dr Raymond Ch'ien, Chairman of MTR Corporation; and Mr Nicolas Borit, CEO of AsiaWorld-Expo Management Limited.

With its modern facilities and enviable list of major international exhibitions already booked for 2006, AsiaWorld-Expo is set to take Hong Kong's exhibition industry to an unparalleled level of excellence.

Express Connections - To Central And Beyond

AsiaWorld-Expo is the world's only exhibition and events venue that is fully integrated with an international airport and serviced by an in-venue Mass Transit Railway (MTR) station, allowing easy and efficient access to key locations in Hong Kong.

Comprehensive cross border bus services also provide easy land access to and from the Mainland. Regular daily bus services are already available between AsiaWorld-Expo and Shenzhen and the journey is less than one hour.

The Centre is also easily accessible by local buses, taxis and private cars.

With visitors' comfort and convenience top of mind, comprehensive Expo Concierge service, including visitor information, and a business centre, are available to guests and exhibitors. Additionally, customer service counters at the Hong Kong International Airport provide instant baggage check-in, storage and forwarding services. The knowledgeable concierge team, positioned at each AsiaWorld-Expo  entrance, will  provide helpful information while the professional business centre handles different types of business and administrative needs.

The Expo Concierge service is provided by Worldwide Flight Services, a global leader in airport customer services.

Leading retailers Watsons personal store and RELAY bookstore have also set up their outlets at the Centre to provide convenience to business travellers visiting AsiaWorld-Expo.
