The 9th Children’s Book Fair will be held from 3 to 5 October 2025 at AsiaWorld-Expo, themed “Children’s Cartoon Carnival.” Families are encouraged to cosplay and dress up for entry, immersing themselves in character and enjoying quality time together. Guests in costume will receive a special gift, and children with tickets can enjoy one free session of the “Starlight Bouncy Inflatable” activity for energetic fun.
 
The exhibition will host around 600 booths featuring books, education, creativity, animation, and family products, offering a one-stop experience in reading, shopping, and entertainment for families with children aged 0 to 15.

DesignerCon (DCon), a leading event in designer toys and art with a 20-year history, is synonymous with global creative culture and is one of North America's largest annual art and design events. Attracting over 70,000 attendees annually, DCon blends design, art, fashion, and urban culture, fostering diverse subcultural exchange. In 2025, DCon celebrates its 20th anniversary with the debut of DCon Asia in Hong Kong. For the first time in Asia, The 2025 DesignerCon Asia Artist World Expo – Hong Kong Station will focus on pop art and culture, gathering exhibitors from Hong Kong and abroad, and presenting high-value intellectual properties and brands.
 
A key highlight of the event is the Hong Kong Pavilion, led by renowned designer Alan Chan, in collaboration with renowned art and image director and filmmaker Man Lim-chung, and Dr. Su Chang, Assistant Professor in Architectural Design at the University of Hong Kong. Under the theme “The Wonder of Toys,” the pavilion will showcase Hong Kong’s pivotal role in the global development of art toys and trace their remarkable evolution—from “toy manufacturing” in the 1950s to today’s “art toys.” This two-day event will energize Hong Kong's creative scene, solidifying its status as a premier Asian creative hub.

World Football Summit Hong Kong 2025 gathered the global football community for two dynamic days of dialogue and discovery. Thousands of industry professionals and fans came together as executives, investors, brands, and digital leaders discussed opportunities in sponsorship, digital engagement, talent development, and sustainability. The summit featured an exceptional speaker line-up, including Italian football great Fabio Capello, legendary referee Pierluigi Collina, FIFA Referees Committee Chairman since 2017, and Rio Ferdinand OBE, former England star and now leading TV presenter—along with many other influential voices shaping the game’s future.

Hong Kong welcomed the prominent global aviation event Routes World for the first time, bringing together experts representing airports, airlines, and key stakeholders of the aviation sector. Hosted by the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), the event attracted around 2,500 global industry leaders to explore the latest developments and opportunities in the city and paved the way for new air connections with HKIA. Comprising exhibitions and speaking forums, this major aviation trade event offered an excellent dialogue and exchange platform for leaders and decision-makers from more than 250 airlines, as well as airports, tourism, and other aviation stakeholders, to explore the future development of the aviation industry.

After eight years, BIGBANG’s G-Dragon made a powerful return with his World Tour [Übermensch], which lit up Hong Kong from 8 to 10 August. Three sold-out nights turned AWE into a dazzling sea of daisies, as fans embraced the Korean superstar’s long-awaited comeback. It was his third time choosing AWE as a key stop for his solo tour—testament not only to the venue’s world-class facilities but also to AWE’s signature warmth. To extend a special welcome, a Michelin-starred Korean chef was invited to prepare authentic cuisine for G-Dragon and his team. Every detail was thoughtfully curated, reflecting AWE’s commitment to creating an exceptional experience for organizers, artists, and audiences alike.

The FIRST^® LEGO^® League (FLL) Hong Kong Championship 2025 concluded successfully at AWE on 26–27 July, drawing over 300 local and overseas teams to explore marine sustainability through robotics and STEAM education. The event highlighted creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving as participants designed robots for underwater tasks. The two-day event attracted more than 3,000 students and 500 teachers and industry leaders. In collaboration with the organizer, AsiaWorld-Expo also invited Tung Chung families to join a coding workshop, enabling children as young as six to learn programming through play, making STEAM education an inclusive and joyful journey.

In June 2025, AWE was awarded Gold certification in LEED O+M. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a globally recognized green building rating system. Buildings earning the certification meet comprehensive leadership standards across various metrics, including energy and water efficiency, indoor environmental quality, and other factors that promote health and well-being for both people and ecosystems.
 
To celebrate its 20th anniversary, approximately
HKD 1 billion was invested in a comprehensive renovation, including the integration of innovative technologies, enhancement of the visitor experience, and improvements in resource efficiency. The facilities feature advanced systems such as water-cooled chillers, a thermal storage plant, LED lighting, etc. By combining energy-saving systems, smart technologies, and comprehensive environmental management, AWE demonstrates how event venues can maintain operational efficiency while promoting ecological responsibility.

AWE proudly shines on the global stage with a series of prestigious accolades recently. AWE has been honoured as “Best Convention Centre (North Asia)” at the M&C Asia Stella Awards for the fifth time. Adding to this milestone, AWE became the first Hong Kong venue to win the “Fan & Guest Experience Award” at TheStadiumBusiness Awards, a recognition of its commitment to elevating visitor experiences and pioneering innovation. Furthermore, AWE’s team spirit and professionalism were celebrated with the “Best Event Team Award” at the Marketing Events Awards held by MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, underscoring its excellence in teamwork, brand visibility, and customer engagement. Together, these achievements highlight AWE’s enduring role as a world-class hub for global events.

Our Chinese fine-dining restaurant, NUVA has been honored with the prestigious “Top 10 Wine by the Glass Awards” by WINE.Luxe Magazine. Judged by a panel of professionals on wine list curation, sommelier expertise and service, and the quality of food-and-wine pairings, the awards recognize ten restaurants each that excel in serving both Asian and international palates. This accolade reaffirms NUVA’s commitment to excellent wine pairing and to delivering an exceptional dining and wine experience.

The groundbreaking ceremony for AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) Phase 2 Development took place on 11 August, with AAHK CEO Vivian Cheung and senior management from AAHK, AWE and contractor Hip Hing Construction Company Limited in attendance, as well as senior government officials including Permanent Secretary for Transport and Logistics Kevin Choi.
 
The event is a major milestone, marking the beginning of construction of the project, part of the SKYTOPIA Airport City development. Scheduled for completion in 2028, it will host a 20,000-seat capacity venue, Hong Kong’s largest multi-purpose indoor arena, and increase AWE’s exhibition space to 100,000 square metres.
 
In a speech at the event, Mrs Cheung commented, “The Phase 2 development of AWE is one of the major projects in the SKYTOPIA blueprint, which will enable Hong Kong to host a broad range of world-class entertainment events and international commercial activities.”
