The Yao Foundation Charity Game is set to return to Hong Kong after seven years for its 12th edition at AsiaWorld-Expo on the evening of 20 August 2024. Led by NBA icons such as Paul George, a 9-time All-Star, and Jimmy Butler, a 6-time All-Star, the International Basketball Stars Team will face off against the Chinese Basketball Stars Team, which is composed of selected champions from the CBA (Chinese Basketball Association) in the Charity Game.
 
In addition to the Charity Game at night which must be highly anticipated, there is also a Basketball Carnival in the morning, featuring friendly games, showcases of trick shots, and other activities. The players will also be on-site to interact with the public and fans.

Innovating Hong Kong - Global Investmatch Carnival 2024 will bring together over 800 startup founders, 500 influential investors, and industry leaders from around the world. This dynamic event will feature insightful panel discussions, networking opportunities, and showcases of cutting-edge technologies and startups.

This year’s theme of “Fostering Green Innovations for Carbon Neutrality” will bring together prominent brands, experts and academics under one roof to strategize the reduction of carbon emissions and help pave the way to a greener future.

Ian Chan, the acclaimed singer-songwriter and member of Hong Kong boy band Mirror, recently held his first solo concerts at AWE for seven consecutive nights, attracting some 70,000 fans.
 
The shows were presented in a creative layout with a long-tailed runway connecting a sub-stage designed to tie in with the overall concert theme. This was made possible by the unique design of AsiaWorld-Arena, which offers extraordinary flexibility for creating seating areas that give audiences an up-close experience. For Ian Chan’s concerts, the ultra-high ceiling also allowed for a mega digital installation, which created a spectacular ambience and greatly magnified his mesmerising performances.
 
The excitement even extended beyond the stage, as the expansive adjacent hall was transformed into a vibrant hub of fan activities.

For the fourth consecutive year, the Hong Kong Brands & Products Shopping Festival was proudly hosted at AWE. Building on the proven success of previous editions, this year’s event offered a welcome escape from the hot summer weather, drawing over 60,000 eager shoppers, especially from the nearby communities of Tung Chung and New Territories West.
 
Featuring over 250 booths across six thematic zones, including the Leisure Food Zone, Health Preserving Food Zone, Living & Household Products Zone, Fashion & Beauty Products Zone, and Flavourful Fun Zone, this shopping extravaganza offered a wide spectrum of quality Hong Kong and global products with attractive deals, as well as lively entertainment and activities offering visitors of all ages a fun-filled experience.

The inaugural annual International Asia Veterinary Conference & Exhibition (IAVC) was held for the first time at AWE, marking the first B2B event of its kind in Asia.
 
The show brought together world-class veterinary specialist speakers and exhibitors, including thousands of veterinarians from across Asia, to exchange valuable insights into critical areas such as disease and diagnosis, surgery and animal behaviour.

In collaboration with students from the School of Hotel and Tourism Management at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), AWE recently arranged sharing sessions, a site tour and a “Business Case Competition” programme for students to unleash their creativity and inspire a new ecosystem using innovative technologies.
 
In the competition, participants were tasked to develop inventive new solutions to real-world business challenges, focusing on one of three critical areas: integrating culture, utilising technology, and advocating environmental protection. Throughout the experience, AWE encouraged students to foster critical thinking, teamwork, and professional growth, creating inspirational new opportunities for educational engagement with the MICE industry.

Established as an annual landmark event to foster cooperation in the exhibition industry, the 13th EXPO Investment Fair for International Exhibition Cooperation (EIIE) was held in Beijing from 9-11 July 2024, bringing together industry professionals for insightful discussions and new business opportunities.
