Spectacular New Events Affirm AWE’s Passion for Excellence
UFI Global Congress 2025
UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, has announced that its 92nd UFI Global Congress will be held in Hong Kong in 2025. Hosted by AWE, the Congress will include activations throughout the Greater Bay Area, marking an important new first for this major industry event.
 
The UFI Global Congress is the “must attend” annual event for the worldwide exhibition industry. As the largest meeting of the year, it is open to more than 50,000 industry professionals and attracts hundreds of industry leaders from around the globe. The event takes place in November every year in the world’s most famous trade-show destinations. For instance, the 2023 event will take place in Las Vegas, USA, and the 2024 event will be held in Cologne, Germany.
 
In 2025, AWE will warmly welcome the event back to the Asia-Pacific region, where it was last held in 2019. With side-programmes across the Greater Bay Area, the 2025 Congress will introduce the global UFI community to inspiring new opportunities in this dynamic and vibrant region.
Super Terminal Expo 2024
AWE will welcome the inaugural Super Terminal Expo to Hong Kong on 5-7 November 2024. AWE and Informa Markets signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 19 June 2023 in Paris, representing their commitment to strengthen cooperation between the two organisations and facilitate new business opportunities, knowledge sharing, and industry insights.
 
As the first of its kind in Asia, Super Terminal Expo 2024 is a ground-breaking event that will unite professionals from the worlds of aviation, shipping, rail, and road. AWE is the natural choice for an event of this scale and focus. Building on the reputation of the first two editions, the HK Brands and Product Shopping Festival is returning to AWE for its 3rd consecutive year from 4-7 August 2023 with over 300 booths.
 
The event will offer a superb shopping experience featuring a huge variety of products at great prices, all arranged in designated zones that include a Leisure Food Zone, Health Preserving Food Zone, Living & Household Products Zone, Fashion & Beauty Products Zone, and Trendy Life Zone. Throughout the festival, visitors can also enjoy an exciting line-up of special on-stage activities, lucky draws and game booths.

This innovative exhibition combines two complementary themes, namely ‘Pet Expo 2023’ and the ‘Travel & Leisure Expo 2023’. Showcasing a rich variety of products, services, and public activities that promote a fulfilling life, the event covers topics such as leisure and entertainment, stress relief, life enjoyment, hobbies, and interests. Additionally, the exhibition includes a charity area where companies can donate to non-profit organisations.

ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA
6-8 September 2023

Following the full reopening of international borders, ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA made the strategic decision to return to Hong Kong, which is its long-established location of choice. This year’s event will take place at AWE from 6-8 September 2023, bringing together leading players from across the global fresh fruit and vegetable industry and throughout the value chain. As Asia’s premier fresh produce trade show, the event will be held alongside the ASIAFRUIT CONGRESS and ASIAFRUIT BUSINESS FORUM, both of which will feature a wide-ranging event programme packed with valuable information and new insights. These events will be free to attend for all ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA ticketholders.
 
Exhibitors from 32 countries have already registered to showcase their products and services, and 21 industry associations and entities have booked national or regional pavilions. Canada, Egypt, Italy, and the USA will all have extensive national pavilions featuring multiple display areas, while China will have the largest presence overall on the show floor.

For the first time in three years, Jewellery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong (JGW), popularly known as the September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair, is building up for its full return to Hong Kong in September. Organised under the hugely successful “One Show, Two Venues” model, the event’s jewellery materials section will be hosted at AWE from 18-22 September 2023.
 
The last three years have served as powerful proof that the global jewellery sourcing experience is just not the same without the full-fledged, international B2B fairs held in Hong Kong. Jewellery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong will offer in-person and web-based sourcing experiences, digital solutions, and dedicated B2B platforms that bring international buyers and quality sellers together across the fine jewellery, gemstone, and fashion jewellery and accessories markets. AWE Warmly Welcomes the World
Art Hong Kong Expo
24-27 May 2023

The inaugural Art Hong Kong Expo, the 2nd Belt & Road National Art & Culture Expo, and the 5th Hong Kong International Arts & Collectibles Expo were held collaboratively from 24-27 May at AWE, spanning a total of 24,000 square metres.
 
Covering calligraphy and painting, modern art, photography, jewellery, collectibles, and antiques, the three-in-one exhibition featured over 300 exhibitors. Noteworthy highlights of this mammoth show included a large-scale painting measuring 1.8 metres in height and 56 metres in length by China’s nationally acclaimed artist Sang Jieben, a 13-ton night pearl, clay teapots by the renowned Yixing artist Kong Xiaoming, works by the esteemed Chinese sculptor Wang Hongliang, and displays of royal embroidery, among others.

The Greater Bay Area Industrial Expo • Hong Kong was held collaboratively with three other highly anticipated exhibitions under one roof at AWE: the inaugural Bright MD Fair China – Hong Kong; the International Digital Energy Expo – Hong Kong; and the Asia International Innovation Invention Exhibition, which is a highly regarded event within the innovation industry.
 
Covering over 35,000 square metres, a size 3.5 times bigger than Hong Kong Stadium, the GBA Industrial Expo displayed the world’s top high-precision machinery, robots, smart factory solutions, 3D printing and more. One of the event’s leading exhibitors, the Hong Kong Aerospace Technology Group and its satellite manufacturing centre, also showcased “Golden Bauhinia”, the first Hong Kong-made satellite. This satellite constellation can cover 11 cities in the Greater Bay Area enabling all-weather and near-real-time dynamic monitoring, including emergency management, disaster prevention and mitigation, and marine oversight.

The 3rd Global Freight Forwarders Expo

The 3rd Global Freight Forwarders Expo was an outstanding success as it marked the first international exhibition dedicated to global freight forwarders in the post-pandemic era. The event in Hong Kong followed hot on the heels of two Logistics Expos and a 12th Global Conference held in Thailand, collectively representing a vibrant return to business as usual.
 
The Expo at AWE embraced a new digital service mode, which enabled exhibitors to expand their networks, accumulate resources, improve their influence in the industry, and foster mutual understanding among enterprises. Unlike traditional exhibitions, the event also featured one-on-one professional meetings specifically tailored to business matching and knowledge transfer, providing excellent opportunities for operational and business development.

AIA MDRT WITH HIM Concert
27-28 May 2023

Local pop singers Terence Lam, MC Cheung and Panther Chan were invited to perform at the “AIA MDRT WITH HIM Concert” for two consecutive nights. The 2-night concert engaged over 20,000 guests. Event tickets were not available for public sale, with invitations extended exclusively to AIA staff and valued clients, ensuring a truly one-of-a-kind experience.

THE FUNFAIR Prudential 175th Anniversary Music Festival

As part of Prudential’s 175th anniversary celebration, the company organised a series of high-profile commemorative campaigns. These included a landmark event at AWE, “THE FUNFAIR Prudential 175th Anniversary Music Festival”. Designed to bring the community together under the theme of “Celebrating Life”, this private festival featured performances by popular artists MC Cheung, Panther Chan, and Dear Jane.

With the lifting of all social distancing measures and limits on catered events, banquets are back in high demand. As Hong Kong’s largest column-free convention and hospitality hall, AsiaWorld-Summit is undoubtedly the venue of choice for large-scale corporate functions.
 
To celebrate the occasion with its 8,000 employees for the first time after a three-year hiatus, McDonald’s held its annual dinner at AWE over three consecutive nights, hosting a total of more than 650 tables. The large pre-function area right outside the event hall was perfect for registration, photo backdrops, warm-up activities, greetings, and more. In addition, AsiaWorld-Summit’s unique ground-level access enabled a flexible venue setup that maximised the experience for everyone in attendance.

HK$1.4 billion Incentive Scheme for Recurrent Exhibitions

To consolidate and enhance Hong Kong’s status as an international trade centre and exhibition hub, the Government has launched the Incentive Scheme for Recurrent Exhibitions (ISRE) to offer powerful new incentives to the exhibition industry.
 
Organisers of an eligible recurrent international exhibition with over 50% or at least 500 non-local participants (including exhibitors and buyers) can receive up to a 100% rental incentive, while the organisers of other eligible recurrent exhibitions can receive an incentive of up to 50% of the venue rental, subject to a cap of HK$20 million (US$2.6 million) for each exhibition.
 
This landmark scheme represents an investment of more than HK$1.4 billion (US$178 million) in Hong Kong’s exhibition industry.

HKIA to Host IATA World Cargo Symposium in 2024
Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) will be the host airport for the World Cargo Symposium (WCS) in 2024, as announced by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) on 27 April 2023. The 2024 edition of the WCS is scheduled for 12 to 14 March at AsiaWorld-Expo and is expected to attract over 1,000 attendees from around the world.
 
The WCS is an annual meeting of the global air cargo industry that brings together airlines, freight forwarders, ground handlers, shippers and regulators to discuss the latest trends, challenges and opportunities. The event features plenary sessions, specialised streams, workshops and executive summits, tackling aspects related to technology and innovation, security and customs, cargo operations, and sustainability. Cathay Cargo is the host airline of WCS in 2024.
