China Sourcing Fairs | 12-15, 19-22, 27-30 October 2013

The latest China Sourcing Fairs continue to attract massive numbers of visitors and exhibitors. This year’s specialised fair for the Electronics & Components and Gift & Premium sectors featured over 4,100 booths, with yet more spectacular fairs hot on their heels, including specialised fairs for fashion accessories, garments and textiles, underwear and swimwear, as well as the India Sourcing Fair for garments and accessories.

To meet the vast and growing demand for connected devices, Global Sources will also launch the China Sourcing Fair: Mobile & Wireless at AsiaWorld-Expo in April 2014, an exciting new addition to the venue’s vibrant calendar of events.

HKTDC Hong Kong International Building and
Decoration Materials & Hardware Fair
28-30 October 2013

The region’s premier building and construction trade platform is returning to AsiaWorld-Expo for its 8th edition. The 2012 edition attracted over 150 exhibitors and saw a 20% increase in attendance compared to 2011. Building on this success, the fair this year will introduce a new zone for Property & Facility Management highlighting technology and services such as as Alterations & Improvements to Buildings, Property & Facility Maintenance, Security/Safety Consultancy, and Waste Management & Recycling.

Eco Expo Asia - International Trade Fair on Environmental Protection | 28-31 October 2013

Recognised as the leading trade fair for green business in Asia, Eco Expo Asia showcases the innovative green-tech products and solutions of nearly 300 exhibitors from around the globe. Areas of specialty include Air & Water Quality, Eco-friendly Products, Energy Efficiency & Energy, Green Building Solution & Services, and Waste Management & Recycling. In addition, a public day will be available on 31 October to promote green living and eco-friendly products to the public.

HKTDC Sports Source Asia | 29-31 October 2013

In addition to its zones for Water Sports, Outdoor Sports, Premium, and Fitness & Gymnastic Training Equipment, this year’s HKTDC Sports Source Asia will introduce a new zone for Golf Equipment and Supplies. The final day of the event, 31 October, will also offer free admission to members of the public, giving all visitors an opportunity to preview new products and learn more about the event’s excellent variety of sporting goods, functional fabrics and materials, sportswear, sports shoes and equipment.

OpenStack Summit November 2013 - Hong Kong
5-8 November 2013

OpenStack is a global community that’s enjoying significant growth in Asia. The event at AsiaWorld-Expo is its first official Summit outside the US. Bringing together thousands of the brightest technical minds to discuss the future of cloud computing, the event will take full advantage of AsiaWorld-Expo’s space and flexibility to offer a dynamic programme comprising a General Session, Expo Hall, lunch and snacks, as well as breakout sessions, workshops and Summit giveaways all under one roof.

Longines Hong Kong Masters 2014
21-23 February 2014

Building on the success of its inaugural edition last year, this prestigious event will soon return to AsiaWorld-Expo – perfect timing to celebrate the incoming Year of the Horse!

The Longines Hong Kong Masters is the first and only 5-star annual showjumping competition in the region. During the three days of the 2014 event, some 35,000 visitors are expected to come and watch as 25 top riders compete for US$1,000,000 in prize money. Visitors can also take a stroll around Prestige Village where high-end brands such as Longines and many others will showcase their exquisite products in pop-up stores.

Another highlight of the event is a 2-star Michelin culinary experience in the dining zone, ensuring that the Longines Hong Kong Masters is not only a gala sports event, but also an exclusive occasion for social networking.

The HUB | 25-27 February 2014

The HUB is an international business-to-business fashion trade show connecting local and global brands with influential retailers and business partners in the Asia Pacific region. After its successful debut at AsiaWorld-Expo in 2013, this ground-breaking event has been confirmed to return early next year.

This innovative show focuses exclusively on branding, thus differentiating itself from traditional trade shows. In 2013, the inaugural HUB featured a collection of over 100 carefully vetted brands covering young, heritage, denim and street labels. The show strategically linked these exhibitors with Asia’s leading buyers and retailers from multi-brand boutiques, department stores and retail operators, including Lane Crawford and Harvey Nichols.

Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair 2013
11-15 September 2013

Thanks to the innovative “One Fair, Two Venues” concept of co-operation and sectorisation, the Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair organised by UBM Asia has been the world’s number one fine jewellery event since 2009.

This year’s event once again lived up to its status as the largest B2B event of its kind in the world. This 31st edition also achieved record-breaking numbers: 3,633 exhibitors from 48 countries and regions, and a total of 52,651 buyers from 154 countries and regions.

Putting youths first

As a community leader and active member of the Lantau Development Alliance (LaDA), AsiaWorld-Expo has joined hands with the Labour Department and the Hong Kong College of Technology to launch the “Lantau Youth Ambassadors” training programme. Designed to promote local employment and assist youngsters in enriching their job skills, this training cum employment programme is now assisting some 30 youngsters from Tung Chung and New Territories West.

On 3 September 2013, Mr. Matthew Cheung, Secretary for Labour and Welfare, joined AsiaWorld-Expo and other LaDA members at an officiating ceremony to mark the launch of this new training programme. Other participating members of LaDA include Hong Kong Disneyland, Ngong Ping 360, HKR International, and Shun Tak – China Travel Ship Management.
